B. Nadene Zembower 95, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on December 15, 1925 in Cumberland Valley Twp., a daughter of the late Brewster and Lena (Nave) Zembower. She is survived by five nephews: Gary, Thomas, and Gregg Zembower, Murray Rose, and Ronald Sisk; five nieces: Arlene Caswell, Joan Crowe, Eva M. Elliott, Janet Mangalvedhe, and Bonnie Hoyle, a cousin John Zembower and numerous great and great-great-nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by four brothers Denver, Herman, Orris, and Milton Zembower; four sisters: Loretta Collins, Arvilla Moore, Alberta Rose, and Iva Sisk; two nephews, Jack Zembower and Luther Rose widow Maxine who survives of Centerville; and five nieces: Doris Marzick, Louise Hoenicka, Laverne Bridges, Lucille Elliott, and Polly Nave.
Nadene graduated from Bedford High School in 1943, and was employed by Kennametal Inc. for 34 years. After her retirement in 1986, she volunteered in the American Cancer Society office for 10 years. She was involved in various projects including Old Bedford Village with the flowers and as an usher at Gardner Memorial Theater. She was also a member of the Bedford Area Senior Citizens, and bowled in the Tuesday morning Coffee League at the Elks. She was affiliated with the Bedford United Methodist Church and attended the Wednesday morning bible study group. She was very proud of the work she did with her cousin John in creating the Zembower genealogy book.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel, at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be private. Friends will be received on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
