Annette L. (Mateljan) Calhoun

Annette Lee Calhoun “Beaner” passed away on April 8, 2022 at the age of 39 in the arms of her husband.  Her battle with cancer over the last year showed her courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile.  Despite the pain, Annette never gave up and stayed strong until the end.  Annette was born on January 25, 1983 in Johnstown.  She is the youngest daughter of the late Laurence John Mateljan and Theresa (Yarosh) Wiker surviving of Bedford.  She has seven siblings: Greg Novak and wife Cindy, of Delaware, Brian Novak and wife Julie of Everett, Lisa Maris, of Johnstown, Tim Mateljan and wife Kelly, of Center Valley, Trish Dasher, of Loysburg, Danielle Angello, of Hollidaysburg, and Jackie Amitrone and husband Joseph, of Johnstown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annette was a 2001 graduate of Bedford High School and Vo-Tech.  She married her husband Jesse Calhoun on March 16, 2004 in Las Vegas.  They had three children: Lauryn Calhoun, Kelcy Calhoun, and Chalmer Calhoun, all at home.  Annette enjoyed numerous things but mostly being with her children at their sporting events or just at home hanging out.  She was their biggest fan whether it was softball, volleyball, cheer, football, or wrestling.  She could always be heard cheering them on.  Annette was an amazing mother, wife, and friend.  She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service and a receiving of friends will be held at the Real Life Church in Bedford, on April 23, 2022 from 11-1 and 2-4.  Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
