Allen Lassinger Sr. Obituary

Allen Lee Lassinger Sr., 63, of Manns Choice, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital from unexpected complications from multiple myeloma.  He was born on February 21, 1957 in Tarentum, a son of the late Richard Lee and Yvonne Ruth (Colflesh) Lassinger.  He is survived by his wife of 34 years Juanita Hope (Hlatky) Lassinger and  two loving children:  a son Allen Lee Lassinger Jr., and wife Miriah McCall Lassinger of Falls Church, VA, and a daughter Ashley Sue Lassinger Fyfe and husband Kenan Wynn Fyfe of Manns Choice; four grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Rae Lassinger and Payton, Paige and Paul Fyfe; two siblings, Mary (Lassinger) Paddock and fiancé Ronald and David Lassinger and wife Theresa; two nieces Marlania and Lana; and a dog who was his constant companion Tootles and a cat named Precious. He was preceded in death by a nephew Gary.

Allen was a 1974 graduate of Mt. Healthy High School in Cincinnati, OH.  He joined the United States Marines Corp in 1974 and proudly served in the motor pool while earning his CDL.  He began his career as a truck driver in 1979 and most recently was a truck driver/dispatcher for Metzler Brothers Transport in Duncansville until his death.  He was an avid golfer and sports fan. He enjoyed watching all sports especially the Patriots and Red Sox.  He enjoyed playing spades and hearts as well.  He especially looked forward to spending time with his son golfing and watching and talking sports.  Allen and his daughter Ashley shared the love of country music and animals.  He spent every evening having dinner as a family with his wife, daughter and grandchildren.  Allen was a very selfless man who was always thoughtful, always caring, and always making everyone laugh. He spent every moment of his life working hard to provide for his family.  He always looked forward to seeing and spending time with his grandchildren.  He shared his birthday with a grandson, Paul Fyfe and he was looking forward to celebrating his first birthday with him.  His favorite holiday was Christmas because he loved watching his grandchildren open their gifts and seeing their faces light up with joy.  He was a wise man, who loved to laugh and devoted his entire life and every spare minute he had to his children, grandchildren, and wife.  He was a member of the Crossroads Bible Church and enjoyed mowing grass weekly and giving to his church.  He kept the Lord close to his heart.
