Zane T. Black

Zane T. Black, 76 of Carrol’s Rest Home, died Sunday November 7, 2010 at the home.  He was born November 3, 1934 in Kerney, son of the late Milton and Rosa (Thomas) Black.  On August 15, 1953 in Cumberland, MD, he married JoAnn Cook and she preceded him in death on November 7, 2008.  He is survived by three children; Jane Ann wife if Charles Barefoot of Winnsboro, SC, Stephen Black married to the former Lori Diehl of Bedford and Roger Black and fiancé Shelly Will also of Bedford, six grandchildren: Tova, Travis, Cierra, Stephanie, Jacob and Jeremy, Also surviving are ten great grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers;  Ruth Dobson of California, Betty Jane Rizer of Six Mile Run, Annetta Snyder of Chambersburg, Grace Thomas of Colorado, two brothers; George Black of Michigan and Robert Black of Chambersburg.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Claire and Dennis Black.

Mr. Black was of the Brethren Faith.  He worked as a printing press operator at Standard Register for over 20 years.  He was an avid hunter and enjoyed singing gospel music with the members of the Glorious Touches.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial Services: Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.  Friends will be received on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
