Wilmer R. Good

Wilmer R. Good, 75, of Hall Street, Bedford, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on April 5, 1939, in Blue Ball, a son of the late Clarence S. and Bertha M. (Weaver) Good. On October 18, 1958, in Hummelstown, he married Doris (Kreiser) Good who survives along with the following family: a son, Steven C. Good and wife Gaby, a daughter, Suzie E. wife of Tim Layton, both of Bedford; five grandchildren: Kerri, Alex, Devon, Derek, and Olivia; one great-grandson: Haddon; a sister, Arlene wife of Lawrence Redcay of New Holland; and a brother, Glenn Good and wife Carol of Mountville.  He was preceded in death by one sister Mary Auker husband Ralph surviving of New Holland.

Mr. Good was a graduate of Milton S. Hershey School.  He retired in 1998 from Everett Cash Mutual as Secretary of the company, and prior to that worked as an underwriter.  He was previously worked for Penn National Insurance Company in Harrisburg.  He was the treasurer of the Central Blind Association, member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #320 F&AM, and American Legion Post #113.  He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed going to all the local sporting events high school and junior high. He enjoyed taking care of his children, and grandchildren running them around to all their activities.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor John Bennett officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Wilmer’s name to: Bedford High School Sports Program, 330 East John Street, Bedford, PA 15522.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
