William H. Wittmer 81 of Oppenheimer Road, Bedford, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 28, 1927 in McCandless TWP, PA, son of the late William and Clara (Hofman) Wittmer. On January 17, 1953 in Pittsburgh, he married Marie (Senchyshyn) and she survives along with four children: William N. Wittmer of Somerset, Alison wife of Larry Dickson Jr., Diane C. Wittmer, both of Pittsburgh, Linda A. wife of Gavin Little of Bedford, four grandchildren: Vincent, Isaac and Hayden Little and Nicholas Dickson, a brother Raymond C. Wittmer and a sister Fannie Lieb, both of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by a sister Blanche Wiles.
Mr. Wittmer a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford. He retired as co-owner of Penland Diesel, Inc. in Bedford and was also a self-employed farmer. He served with the Army during World War II.
Funeral Services: Thursday, 3:00 PM in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Raymond E. Short officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM and from 1:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church, 106 W.
