William A. Price

William Asbury Price, 88 of Autumn Assisted Living of Bel Air, MD, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, At Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium.  He was born January 30, 1923 in Little Orleans, MD, son of the late Walter Austin Price and Margaret Jeanette Fletcher Price.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sarah Elizabeth (Smith) Price, two sons, William Paul Price and wife Judy of Joppa, MD, Michael Wayne Price and Wife Donna, of Hampstead, MD, five grandchildren; Candice Price of Joppa, Kristie Price of Chicago, Christopher Price of Silver Run, Nicholas Price of Hanover, and Keith Price of Hampstead and one great granddaughter, Savannah Price, sisters Marie Schaeffer, and Sarah Wiemer, both of Florida.  He was predeceased by brothers Earl Price, Bruce Price, Paul Price, Stanley Price, and Frank Price, and sisters Ella Farkes, Jeanette Rhodes, Ruth Hite, and Pearl Price.

Mr. Price was a World War II veteran, having served on active duty in the Army from 1941-1945, both Italy and North Africa.  He was a truck driver for Eastern Express and Smith Transfer, during that time he received several one million mile accident-free driving awards.  He enjoyed boating with his family, playing cards and working in his yard,

Funeral services: Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park, with military honors conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
