William F. “Bill” Popovich Jr., 68, of Bedford, died on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at his residence. He was born on March 19, 1958 in Johnstown, PA, a son of the late William F. Popovich Sr. and Janice (Koontz) Popovich. He married Annette (Easter) Popovich and they shared over 39 years of marriage together. She survives along with a daughter: Elizabeth Ann Berry and husband Franklin of Catonsville, MD; a son: William F. “Billy” Popovich III and wife Rachel of Cincinnati, OH. Two grandchildren: William F. Popovich IV and Harper Popovich and another granddaughter on the way. He had three siblings, Patricia Pruchnicki and husband Bob of Brecksville, OH, Michael Popovich and wife Karen of Johnstown, and Kathleen Miller and husband Scott of Dover, PA. a sister-in-law Deena Thompson and husband Glenn of Everett, PA and brother-in-law, Alan Easter and wife Jean of Jeanette, PA, plus many nieces and nephews, whom he cherished.
Bill graduated from Ferndale High School in 1976 and was a Penn State graduate, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Agriculture. He also served as the Team Captain of the Forestry Team at Mt. Alto, PSU. He was the General Manager for the Bedford/Everett/New Enterprise Farm Bureau for over 15 years, before he became the owner of Bedford Pallets for next 30 years. Bill was very popular in the community and was involved in many various clubs and activities. He was a former President of the Bedford Rotary Club, President of the Egolf Park Association, and served on the Board at Friends Cove Mutual. He was a member of the B&W Gun Club, the Bedford Elks Lodge #1707, Flickers, The Safari Club, and a lifetime member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, and Trout Unlimited. Two of his favorite places included being a member of Camp Good Hope in Potter County and their condo in Ocean City, MD, where he was the Jamaican Sun Condo Association President for many years. He was a loving husband, father and Pappy, and was an avid Penn State, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Pittsburgh Pirate sports fan. He looked forward to his yearly fly fishing and hunting trips with his best buddies.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Father Donald Dusza officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
