William K. Johnson

William K. Johnson, 97, of Bedford, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on September 4, 1915, in Six Mile Run, a son of the late John and Roxena (Kline) Johnson. On March 24, 1945, in Texas, he married Mabel (Sipes) who preceded him on death on October 30, 2005. He is survived by a sister-in-law Mary Stiffler of Bedford, and the following nieces and nephews, Cheryl Armon, Joseph Johnson and wife Linda, Ruth Ann and husband Brooke Jenkins, Dr. William Stiffler and wife Doris, Carolyn wife of David Almond and other  numerous nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Johnson, two sisters D. Virginia Armon, and Ruth Ann Johnson, and nephew Mike Johnson

Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor’s degree at Antioch College and his Master’s degree at the University of Chicago.  He was WWII Army Veteran who served in the Medical Corps.  He was a member of the First Christian Church of Everett, and retired after 25 years as a psychiatric social worker consultant and case manager for the city of Chicago.  He was a kind and caring man who touched the lives of many generations of Johnson and Sipes families.  He enjoyed classical music, gardening and reading.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with the Rev. Robert  Robertson officiating.  Burial at Everett Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday, at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
