William L. “Bill” Grimm, 70, of Starfield Road, Everett, died Sunday, May 11, 2014 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on September 14, 1943, in Hagerstown, MD, a son of the late George O. and Charlotte L. (Stotler) Grimm. On November 13, 1965, in Hagerstown, MD, he married Peggy Ann (Lesh) Grimm who survives along with the following family: a son, Roger Grimm married to the former Valerie Fessler of Bedford; one grand-daughter, Lesha Grimm, three brothers: George “Buzz” Grimm and wife Nancy of Everett, Charles “Bud” Grimm of Dover, David L. Grimm and wife Sara, of Everett; and a sister, Charlotte “Pat” Grimm of Everett. He was preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Selah Grimm, a sister, Roseanna “Sissy” L. Grimm.
Bill spent 41 years on the road driving truck for Central Chemical, Gerald Clark, Howard Johnsons for 17 years, and then retiring from Jones Motor Company after 20 years. Bill was a well-known Country and Bluegrass singer, and musician in the area. He played with the bands: The Holidays, No Man’s Band, The Country Lite-Ups, The Snake Spring Valley Boys, and the Grimm Family Band. Bill also enjoyed playing music for the residents and clients at Donahue Manor Nursing Home, Bedford Colonial Courtyard, and ADTC. Other than music Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife and have visited all the U.S. States but Alaska. He enjoyed going to cruise in’s and car shows with his 1964 Ford Galaxy, and 1966 Ford Pick-Up. He was a member of the Fort Bedford Region Antique Auto Club, The Bloody Run Auto Club, the Ford Galaxy Club, and Chapter PA W Goldwing Road Riders Association.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor John Garner, and Laura Wiley officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
