William H. England

William H. England, 81, of  Arandale St., Bedford died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at  Colonial Courtyard in Bedford.  He was born on August 21, 1927, in Everett, Son of the late W. Homer and Pearl (Diehl) England.  On August 27, 1950 in Hyndman, he married Jean Emerick and his death ends a marriage union of 58 years. Along with his wife he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Baker of Everett, a grandson Daniel R. Baker and fiancée Aliza Feaster,  a sister, Imogene Henderson of Bedford, two brothers, Donald R. England and wife Marie, of Kissimmee, Fl, and Richard K. England and wife Elizabeth of Everett, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was a World War II Army Veteran, a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1945 and the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science class of 1952. He owned and operated Fisher’s Pharmacy in Bedford from 1961 until he sold it to John Bush in 1979. He was a former member and Past President of Bedford Rotary Club, a member of Bedford Elks Lodge # 1707, Bedford American Legion Post 0113, and the Flickers.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing trips with his friends.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, that enjoyed his family and who will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services:  Thursday, May 21, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, with Rev. Joseph Puleo officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
