Vivian A. Moorehead

Vivian A Moorehead, 100, of East Penn Street, Bedford, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at her residence.  She was born on December 18, 1909 in Dayton, OH, a daughter, of the late Elson C. and Nell (Lysinger) Mortimer.  On December 7, 1935 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford she married Hughes (Butch) Moorehead and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1952.  She is survived by two daughters Phyllis J. wife of Albert W. Mellott of Bedford and Ellinor “Linn”  M. wife of Charles J. Cober of  Rainsburg, three grandchildren: David Mellott and fiancée Melanie Lang and children, Christina “Chris” Dibert and companion John Snyder, and Michael H. Cober, seven great grandchildren:  Tyler, Haley and Devin Mellott, Cody and Kyle Dibert, and Hope and Madison Cober.  She was preceded in death by one grandson Richard "Butch" Mellott and one brother Elson C. "Mort" Mortimer Jr.

Vivian was part owner and operator of Moorehead’s Roll Arena Skating Rink, Restaurant and Motel.  She was of the protestant faith and a former member of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed her great grandchildren reading her bible, and books, she enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  She also spent a lot of time working in her yard and crocheting.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Pastor Donald Harr officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.
