Vivian “Binnie” Grace Fisher, 78 of Bedford, went peacefully to her Heavenly home on January 13, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. The fifth of seven children to Wilbert and Beatrice Foor, she was born April 1, 1932, in Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Orelda “Lou” Miller, and an infant sister Phyllis.
On August 12, 1951 in Wolfsburg, she married Glenn Matthew Fisher, who survives along with two children, Rodney Fisher, married to the former Lana Miller and Pamela wife of Harry Corley Jr., both of Bedford, six grandchildren; Alisha Fisher married to Jack Graybill of York, Amy Fisher of Pittsburgh, Justin Cober-Lake and wife Nicole of Charlottesville, VA, Crystal Corley married to Brian Heuston of Claysburg, SSG Joe Corley and wife Christie of Claysburg, and Heather married to William Corley of Claysburg. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren who adored her, Ava, Jasper, and Nehemiah Cober-Lake, Chayla and JJ Corley, Christian and Jacob Heuston, and Neveah, Bearett and Colton Corley, and the following brothers and sisters, Mary K. married to Melvin Miller, Ronnie and wife Mary, Dixie Defibaugh all of Bedford, Robert of Florida and a sister-in-law, Mickey of Bedford, and several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Bedford High School, class of 1951. After retirement from Hedstrom in 1989, Vivian kept a busy schedule. Not only did she help at blood drives, she was an 18 gallon blood donor. She was a member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary and an active member of RSVP since February 1, 1992, always helping with the Food Bank and ushering for the Bedford County Players. She was a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates, who would go to games any chance she got. She was an avid golfer and bowler, enjoyed bingo, loved to swim, and had fun wherever she was. She would volunteer when she was needed and would help anyone who asked. What she did was for others, and she rarely did anything for herself. Most important, she was an active member of the Wolfsburg United Methodist Church since childhood, attended Bible study faithfully, and through her illness, her faith remained strong. She was loving and giving, family was her pride, and she will be missed by many.
