Virginia J. Rathjens

Virginia J. Rathjens, 75, of Natalie Lane, Bedford, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her residence. She was born on February 24, 1939, in Bridgeport, CT, a daughter of the late Robert and Marion Lincoln. She is survived by four daughters: Barbara Dennis and husband Larry of Glenwood Springs, CO; Kim Wootten of Seymour, CT; Ginger Walsh and husband Michael of Palm Bay, FL; Tracy Mata and husband Robert of Millford, CT; six grandchildren: Jeremy, Kelly, Corey, Casey, Kyle, and Amber; and four great grandchildren: She was preceded in death by a grandson Jeffrey, a great granddaughter Cassidy, two brothers: Robert and William, and one sister Marion.
Virginia was a member of the Bedford County Christian Church. She worked as a calibrator for Dresser Industries in Connecticut before moving to Bedford. She enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, baking, cooking and spending time with the women at the ladies luncheons. She was a loving mother and will be missed dearly by her four daughters and her faithful companion Chester. The family wanted to express their thanks to Bill and Ruth Defibaugh and their family and nieces Dixie and Penny.
