Virginia Karadavis

Virginia “Soteropoulos” Karadavis, 87, of Business Route 220, formerly of Florida, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born December 23, 1924 in Richmond, VA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Christine (Bambacus) Zambetis. On November 20, 1951 in Richmond, VA, she married Costes T. Karadavis, and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2006. She is survived by a daughter Ann wife of John Bader of Inverness, FL, and a son Theodore C. Karadavis married to the former Juliet Wright of Bedford. Also surviving are two grandsons; Brent Palmer and Theodore Austin Karadavis and wife Kalina, and a brother Zack Zambetis of Rockville, MD. She was preceded in death by three sisters; Helen Anas, Eva Zambetis and Loula Cocolis.
Mrs. Karadavis was affiliated with the Bedford Presbyterian Church and had worked as an elementary school secretary.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Doug Friant officiating. Burial at Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday morning one half hour before the service at the funeral home.
