Virginia L. George

Virginia L. (Genny Kesner) George, 81, of  Thomas Street, Bedford, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at Altoona Regional Hospital.  She was born on October 12, 1927, in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of the late Leonard and Elma (Scott) Haines.  On November 6, 1946 in Cumberland, MD, she married Harry George and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1976. She is survived by the following family, a daughter, Susan wife of Kenneth Nave of Everett, a daughter, Darlene wife of Joe Roy of Smyrna, GA, a daughter, Diana  Kesner of Bedford, a daughter, Linda wife of Gary Lee of Bedford, a daughter, Barbara  Weyant of Claysburg, a daughter, Dawn wife of Larry Ernest of Bedford, a son, Donald married to the former Misti Will of Bedford, a daughter, Kelley Kesner of Bedford, and a  daughter, April Kesner of Baltimore, MD, 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and one aunt, Helen Ward of Keyser, WV.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Bill Haines, four sisters, Lois Haines, Janet Van Meter, Becky Holloway, and Linda Haines, one son, Harry George, and one daughter Jane George.

She was a member and worked at the Moose.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home Inc., with Pastor William Defibaugh officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home.
