Vicki E. Dovala 50 of Adams Run Road, New Paris, died Thursday January 11, 2007 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 23, 1956 in Spangler, daughter of Eleanor M. (Lantzy) Fisher of Portage and the late Cyril A. Fisher. On August 20, 1983 in Johnstown, she married Richard G. Dovala and he survives along with two children: John A. Dovala and Heather Lynn Dovala both at home. She was also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Donald Fisher and wife Phyllis of Indianapolis, IN, Sally wife of Michael McKasson of Tucson, AZ, Paul Fisher and wife Karen, Karen wife of Leo Gressick and Janice wife of Ray Bowman all of Portage, numerous nieces and nephews and a God Child Tana McKasson.
Mrs. Dovala was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, were she served as a Eucharist Minister and as an Usher. She was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post 113 Women’s Auxiliary, the Pleasantville VFW Post 9219. She had participated for the last several years in the American Cancer Society Walk for Life and will be missed by the Knights of Columbus for her work and cooking for their various activities.
Funeral Mass: Monday 10:00 AM from St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford with Father Donald Dusza celebrant. Burial at St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 8:00 PM.
