Verna Ruth Hansrote 84 of Bedford, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 24, 1920 at Cumberland, Md, Daughter of the late Carl and Carrie Lewis. On August 4, 1947 in Winchester, Va, She married Glenn Richard Hansroter who preceded her in death on October 8, 1997, She is survived by 2 daughters, Glenora wife of Wayne Fauple of Bedford, and Penny Schnably of Cumberland, MD, 3 grandchildren Jessica w/o John Badger, Adam Faupel, and Aaron Schnably, 3 great grandchildren Joey, Lauren & Trinity, and also a special niece Nicki Horentine. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Jim & Carl Lewis and 1 sister: Wilma Duncan
She was a member of the Centerville United Methodist Church, Centerville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and volunteered for the American Cancer Society for over 10 years. She worked at the Bedford Springs Hotel for many years
Funeral Services: Saturday, October 16, 2004, at 11:00 AM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford with the Preacher Grace Whitfield officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home.
