Vera C. Beemiller

Vera C. Beemiller, 90, of North Juliana Street, Bedford, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at her home.  She was born on March 31, 1925, in Reynoldsdale, a daughter of the late Ralph and Edith (Claar) Creighton.  On August 3, 1946, in Bedford, she married J. Bernard Beemiller, her husband of 69 years, who survives along with the following family: James B. Beemiller Jr, of Bedford, Bonnie L. Speece, of Jenson Beach, FL, and John Beemiller, married to the former Carla Wilson, of Bedford; she was blessed with five grandchildren: Chad, Courtney, Josh, Jeremy, and Cara; and five great-grandchildren: Emily, Conner, Logan, Zoe, and Aylyn, with number six due in March of 2016; and two sister-in-law’s, Lois Creighton, and Mary Jane Beemiller.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Hostetler, and five brothers: Russell, Ray, Dale, Robert, and Dean Creighton.

Mrs. Beemiller was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church.  After graduating from Bedford High School in 1943 as Valedictorian of her class, she went to work for Brown Motor Supply for four years. After marriage and raising children, she volunteered at St. Thomas School, worked for Penn State, and then for Fritz Electric for 7 years.  She enjoyed golf, working with her flowers, and in her later years being a homemaker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Bedford, with Father Donald Dusza, Celebrant.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Timothy A.
