Tyler S. Melius

Tyler S. Melius, 18 of Bedford, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born July 6, 1989 in Everett, a son of Stephen Melius and Janice L. ( Dermer) Evans. Along with his parents he is survived by two sisters, Alisa Lingenfelter of Bedford and Gretchen, wife of Alex Passarell of El Paso, TX, five nieces and nephews: Brendan, Cole, Brianna, Cooper, and Ceaton, Maternal Grandmother, Shirley Dermer of Everett and the late R. Ernest Dermer, Paternal Grandparents, Frank and Arlene Melius of Bedford and special friends Amanda Mortimore, Darrin Littlefield and Harry Evans.
Tyler donated his organs to help many others. He was a 2007 Bedford High School Graduate and worked for E.W. Wise Landscaping. Some of Tyler’s interests included Quad racing at the Blair Bedford Dirt Drags and the Breezewood Proving Grounds and farming on his grandfather’s farm. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his friends and family. He was a great son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend who was loved by all who knew him.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with the Rev. Eric Larson officiating, burial in Trinity UCC Cemetery in Friends Cove. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
