Thomas A. Hershberger, 89, of Hollidaysburg, Pa formerly of Bedford, died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at The Village at Morrisons Cove . He was born on May 26, 1916 in Saxton, a son of the late Anson H. and Ethel (White) Hershberger. On January 26, 1936 in Hagerstown, MD. He married Mary Louise Diehl who survives along with the following family, one son, Donald T. married to the former Wendy Thomas of Myrtle Beach, SC, and one daughter, Patricia L. widow of Jerry L. Smith of Hollidaysburg, five grandchildren: Scott and wife Sabina, Kristen and husband Charles, Cindy, Jeffrey and wife Marika, and Troy and wife Tamela., Five great grandchildren, Sara widow of Barron Wisegarver, . He was preceded in death by 1 Grandaughter: Pamela Sue, 1 Brother Donald H. Hershberger husband to Ruth of Bedford.
He was a member of the, St. Thomas Catholic Church. Bedford Elks Lodge #1707, and Past Exulted Ruler, WW II Army Vet Bedford American Legion, Post #113.
Funeral Services on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at 10:00 AM from the St Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, with the Father Raymond E. Crosser officiating. Burial in Bedford Cemetery. Where full military rites will be conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home where a vigil will be held at 8:00 and and Elks service at 7:30.
