Theodore W. Wertz

Theodore W. "Ted" Wertz, 58, of Allegheny Road, Manns Choice, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Windber Hospice.  He was born on November 6, 1954, in Bedford, the son of Glenn A., of Manns Choice and the late Mary Ann (Axmacher) Wertz. He is survived by a daughter,  Deni Ackeridge; two grandsons, Logan and Kody all of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters: Christina Garnes, and significant other Dwight Lamburn of Chambersburg, and Diana wife of John Dick of Martinsburg; step-mother, Jane M. Wertz, of Manns Choice, and a step-sister, Brenda Alford, of Tupper Lake, NY.

Ted was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Bedford Elks Lodge #1707, and enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR races.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Doug Friant officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions in Ted’s name to the: Bedford County Humane Society, 1108 Lutzville Rd, Everett, PA 15537, or Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
