Theodore Renk

Theodore Renk, 80 of E. Penn St., Bedford, died, Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his residence.  He was born January 29, 1929 in Zap, ND, son of the late Alex and Emilia (Dschaah) Renk.  On April 1, 1952 in Hagerstown, MD, he married Lillian M. Roll and she survives along with three daughters: Fawn A. wife of Rick Hite of Crystal City, MO, Sherry M. wife of John Leister and Vicki J. wife of Steve Keller both of Bedford, eight grandchildren: Sarah wife of Charlie Goodwin, Ben Hite and wife Beth, Aaron Hite, Andy Leister and wife Brandi, Amy wife of Craig Davis, Jesse Leister and wife Lacey, Stephanie Keller and Dan Keller.  Also surviving is a twin brother Theophil Renk of Golden Valley, ND and two sisters: Irene Renk of Seattle, WA and Arlene wife of Leroy Bender of Washburn, ND.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Peter Renk and three sisters, Emma, Carol and Ella.

Mr. Renk was a member and former Elder and Deacon at St. John’s UCC Church in Bedford.  He retired in 1985 as a supervisor for Sprint after 33 years.  He was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post 0113, Telephone Pioneers and former member and Past President of the Bedford Lions Club.  He was a veteran who served with the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral Services: Tuesday, 11:00 AM from St. John’s UCC Church in Bedford with Pastor Joseph Puleo officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received today (Monday) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Timothy A.
