Thelma W. Miller, 99, of Grandview Avenue, Everett, died Monday, November 23, 2015, at her residence. She was born on August 6, 1916 in Petersburg, WV a daughter of the late Jesse Y. and Estella Mae (Riggleman) Alt. She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert R. Ritchey on July 3, 1955, and by her second husband Frederick Miller, on November 9, 2005. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy J. Sariano of Carlisle, a step-daughter, Christine M. wife of Robert M. Ancell, of Norfolk, VA, and a step-son, Marc F. Miller, married to the former Kathey Brown, of Smyrna, GA; five granddaughters: Susan, Sharon, Bridget, Pamela, and Lisa; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Robert R. Ritchey, a daughter Linda Ryan, and a grandson, Robert Ritchey.
Thelma retired after 20 years as a social worker for the Department of Public Assistance in Bedford. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at the Bedford United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women’s Group. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and painting with water colors.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the Bedford United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Welsch officiating. Burial at Ritchey Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
