Susan E. Burket, 62, of State Street, Everett, died on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 20, 1949, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Clarence and Kathryn V. (Stahl) Cornelius. She was the wife of Richard L. Burket who preceded her in death on May 2, 2004. She is survived by three children: two daughters, Dawn Newberry, and Denys Rose both of Everett, a son, Dennis Newberry and wife Julie of Altoona; fiancé, Roy Van Doren of New Paris; six grandchildren: Mason, Dillon, Aaron, Amber, Bailie, and Elizabeth; four brothers, Randy Cornelius and wife Jean, Rodney Cornelius and wife Wendy, Ralph Cornelius, Clem Cornelius, and a sister, Kathryn Cornelius all of Altoona; and a lifetime friend and sister Connie Malone. She was preceded in death by one infant son.
Susan was a Dom Care Facilitator and Personal Care Provider and a retired Case Manager for the First Choice in Home Care of Bedford, and was affiliated with the St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church in Martinsburg. She was a member of the Bedford American Legion Auxiliary Post 113 and Women of the Moose Chapter 1245. She Enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo, slot machines, watching her grandchildren in all their different activities and was a loving mother, grandmother, fiancée, and sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Mary Anischenko officiating.
