Steven M. Tew

Steven M. Tew, 68 of Schellsburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. He was born on June 23, 1956 in Bedford, a son of the late Ralph E. and Anna Mae (Mowry) Tew. On April 2, 1975 he married Patricia L. (Rodfong) Tew and she preceded him in death on March 24, 2011. He is now reunited with his wife after being kept apart from each other for the past 14 years. He is survived by two sons: Jason Tew of Bedford, and Eric Tew of Schellsburg; four grandchildren:  Logan Tew of Steamboat Springs, CO; Christian Tew of Schellsburg; Cole Tew and wife Katlyn of Abilene, TX; and Molly Tew of Bedford; two sisters:  Doris Smith and husband Ray of Ashtabula, OH; Diana Tew of Everett; two brothers:  Lester Tew of Fort Worth, TX; and Ronnie Tew of Bedford. He was preceded in death by eight brothers:  Ralph Jr., Ken, Ed, Charlie, Roger, Richard, Tom, and Fred Tew; and three sisters:  Hazel, Mary, and Evelyn.

Steve was known to be a stubborn man with a hard exterior and a heart of gold.  He cared deeply about his family and close friends.  He loved hunting and being outside working on his property.  He was affiliated with the Real Life Church in Bedford and spoke daily with God about his life and his dreams for those close to him.  His family would like to thank Fisher’s Pharmacy and DaVita Dialysis in Somerset for all the extra care they showed Steve during their time with him.
