Stanley R. Prew

Stanley R. Prew 86, of Bedford, died Sunday, March 16, 2025 at UPMC Bedford Hospital.  He was born on June 10, 1938 in Pittsfield, MA a son of the late Phillip Edward and Bertha (Llewellyn) Prew.  He was married to Joan Ann (Lemoine) Prew on May 16, 1959, and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2019.  He is survived by three daughters: Dawn Prew and husband Ben Cohick, of Williamsport, Linda Brouse widow of Ken, of Bedford, and Cassandra Frankenberry and husband Jerry, of Bedford; 7 grandchildren: Marissa Barr and husband Adam, Nicolas Brouse and wife BreAnne, Jonathan Brouse and wife Tiffany, Zachary Brouse and wife Erin, Ethan Brouse, Jack Londergan, and Hannah Londergan; and 8 great-grandchildren: Beckham, Luca, and Johnnie Barr, Payton, Sophia, Paxton, Nora, and Kennedy Brouse. He was preceded in death by two siblings: Phillip Jr., and Margaret, and a son-in-law, Ken.

Stanley spent his early life in Middlefield and Hinsdale, Massachusetts.  He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1955, and Chamberlayne Jr. College, in Boston, in 1957.  Stanley started his career in Engineering at E. Jones and Sons/Beloit Corp in 1959.  Later he was employed by Sprout Waldron, in Muncy, from 1971 until 2001, retiring as Director of Engineering.  He was an avid golfer and bowler, and was a member of Turbot Hills and Down River Golf Courses.
