Stanford P. Boyer

Stanford P. Boyer, 78, of Osterburg, died on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 16, 1939, in Ogletown, a son of the late Richard and Beatrice (Rogers) Brown-Spahr. On October 3, 1985, in Honolulu, HI, he married his loving wife and soul mate of 37 years Lynda L.(Stabnau) Boyer and she survives along with the following family: a son, Jeffery A. Boyer and wife Lori, of Milford; a daughter, Bonnie K. Walter and husband Stephen, of Claysburg; two step-sons;  Stephen W. Howsare, of Everett; and Todd Howsare and wife Shawna, also of Everett; three grandchildren: Aaron  Howsare and companion Tracy, of Everett;  Ronnette Kranik and husband Scott, of Claysburg;  Shane Boyer, of Milford; two great grandchildren:  Haydden and Braidyn Kranik; one brother:  Tom Brown and wife Stella, of Bedford and two sisters:  Virginia Lockard and husband Wilbur, of Imler; and Nancy Hann and husband Jim, of Fishertown.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Christy Boyer, one sister Connie Brown; one brother John Brown; and two step fathers:  Chester Brown and Pat Spahr.

Stanford was an Army Veteran and retired in 1993 from Standard Register in Bedford. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, coaching girls softball,  playing and singing blue grass music.  He was a member of the NRA, Moose Lodge # 480, and the Bedford Sportsman Club.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Melvin Van Orman officiating.  Burial at St. Marks Cemetery, in King, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Friday, from 3 - 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Stanford’s name to the Bedford Sportsman Club, 270 Fresno Road, Bedford, PA 15522.   Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
