Shirley J. (Morris) Miller

Shirley J. Miller, 86, of Bedford, died on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born on February 5, 1937 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Walter W. and Margaret Emma (Mowry) Morris. On May 28, 1955 in Bedford, she married Carl J. Miller who preceded her in death on December 7, 2003. She is survived by two sons:  Steven C. Miller and wife Mary of Schellsburg; and Gregory M. Miller and wife Neva J. of Morris; two granddaughters, Kayla J. Miller of Morris, and Angella M. Miller of Boynton Beach, FL; and one step-grandson, Cody R. Snyder of Schellsburg.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda J. Lang widower Greg who survives of State College and two brothers Donald and Robert Morris.

Shirley attended the Real Life Church in Bedford and prior to being disabled, she worked at Barton’s Clothing Store in Bedford and Westinghouse.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her flowers, collecting and wearing jewelry, and her dog Ava.  The family would like to thank all of her caregivers that helped out through the years.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Pastor Richard Whetstone officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 6 - 8 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the service.
