Sara Jane Davidson, 96, of Bedford, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. She was born on October 9, 1927 in Everett, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mayme (Williams) Hershberger. On February 14, 1948 in Bedford, she married Samuel A. Davidson who preceded her in death on February 3, 2005. She is survived by a daughter Trish Nornhold and husband Dennis of Enola; and their three children: Ryan Nornhold and wife Bri; Mark Nornhold and husband Greg; and Jeff Nornhold and wife Megan; and their children Rhett, Kasen, Gabe, Brain, Kane, Riley, and Evie; a daughter Lisa Reese and husband Jim of Duncansville; and their three children: Lauren Cavanaugh and husband Pat; Joel Reese and wife Meghan; and Julie Baum and husband Jordan; and their children: Kaitlin, Maggie, Clara, Nolan, Trace and Parker; a son James S. Davidson and wife Karen of Bedford and his son Vincent; a daughter Mary Lee Rowser and husband Chuck of Bedford and their two children: Melissa Gorsuch and husband Ryan; and Amy Barfield and husband Eric; and their children: Austin, Hunter, Emma, Tucker, Ashton, and Sammy. She was preceded in death by one sister, Nanette Hershberger.
Sara Jane was a lifelong member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church. She graduated from Everett High School in 1945 and played on the girl’s high school basketball team. Before she went to Thompsons Business Institute, she worked for Whetstones Pharmacy in Everett and after business school she worked as a teller at a bank in Everett. She followed her husband around the country with his military assignments that ended up in Texas and Maine. She also worked at Rea and Derick / CVS in Bedford from 1980 till 2004. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, making friendships and visiting with people.
