Samuel N. Rose, 76, of Sweet Root Road, Bedford, died Monday, August 3, 2015, at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on March 18, 1939, in Bedford, a son of the late Charles W. and Millie J. (Johnson) Rose. On April 10, 1964, in Ellerslie, MD, he married Billie Lee (Schroyer) Rose, who survives along with the following family: two sons: Stevan D. Rose, and Scott J. Rose, both of Bedford; a brother Harry Rose, of Bedford, a sister, Nancy Light, of Middletown; and his beloved dog, Daisey.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Charles, Donald, John & Daniel Rose; three sisters, Flora Spicer, Margaret Teeter, and Patricia Pohl.
Mr. Rose worked at Standard Register for 30 years until its closing. He then retired after 10 years from JLG. He was apart of Good Sam Camping Club, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He enjoyed hunting, refinishing furniture, and working on old cars.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Friday, from 4:00 until the hour of the service.
