Samuel J. Diehl

Samuel J. Diehl, 95 of West Pitt St., Bedford, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at his home.  He was born October 3, 1925 in New Buena Vista, son of the late Henry and Grace (Kelley) Diehl.  He was married to Dorothy E. (Phillips) and she preceded him in death on March 18, 1990.  He is survived by three children; Judith wife of Wayne Oldham of Alum Bank, Jane Allen of Hobe Sound, FL, and Robert James married to the former Mary Long of Acme.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and a brother Alfred Diehl of Centre Hall.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, James Todd Howsare, four brothers; Charles, Chet, Robert and Blair Diehl.

Mr. Diehl was a member of the Bedford Church of the Nazarene.  He was a self-employed truck driver, and was a member of the Pennsylvania Truckers Assoc.

Funeral services: Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Michael Adams officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and ½ hour prior to the service on Monday morning at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
