Samuel R. Cessna

Samuel R. Cessna, 90, of Bedford, died on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on April 1, 1935 in Bedford, the son of the late Richard and Virginia Cessna. He is survived by his son, Larry Cessna, and Larry’s fiancé, Kelly of Moseley, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, his son, Jeffrey Cessna, and his brother, John.

Sam was a devoted husband and dedicated father who would have done anything in his power to support and love his family. He was enlisted in the US Army as a Technical Specialist prior to becoming the owner and operator for numerous trucking companies throughout his career. After retirement, he continued to work for the Area Agency on Aging by assisting those in need via CART. He was a member of Bedford Presbyterian Church and enjoyed getting together with friends for coffee and conversation. He lived a long, full life, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
