S. Arthur Way

S. Arthur "Art" Way, 88, of Sloans Hollow Road, New Paris, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at his residence. He was born on June 7, 1925, in New Paris, a son of the late Sewell E. and Cleo (McCleary) Way. On June 25, 1955, he married Carol (Egolf) Way, who preceded him in death on July 21, 2001.  He is survived by a son, Mark Way married to the former Connie R. O'Brien of Manns Choice, a grandson Eric Way married to the former Angela Koontz of Aliquippa, a great-granddaughter Elise R. Way of Aliquippa; a sister Opal Way, a niece Nancy Gordon both of Milhiem, and a special niece Cheryl Stahl and husband Brian of Bedford. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Helen Marie, two brothers: Porte W. and Glenn S. Way, and a sister, Mary V. Price.

He was a member of the United Church of Schellsburg and a 60 year member of the American Legion Post #113, he also supported the American Legion Riders He retired in 1987 from the Pennsylvania Fish Commission as a Fish Culturist, and took pride in his gardening and sharing his produce with everyone, he also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at  Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Merle D.
