Ruth E. Crawford, 91 of Bunker Hill Road, Everett, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Nason Hospital. She was born on August 21, 1919, in Cumberland Valley, the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Tewell) Mickey. On November 8, 1947 in Centerville, she married Paul W. Crawford and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1983. She is survived by a daughter Gloria Lucille wife of Kenneth Grace of Everett, two grandchildren Teaa wife of Robert Dick of Chambersburg and Kevin Grace of Altoona; five great grandchildren: Adam, Nathan, and Michela Dick and Justin and Christopher Grace, a sister Catherine wife of William Fockler of Everett; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Leroy husband of Cindy Crawford of New Paris; five brothers Vernon, Roy, John, Charles, and Mearle husband of Jeannie Mickey of Arizona; three sisters Grace, Helen, Jean, and three sister-in-laws Oleta, Gladys, and Polly.
Mrs. Crawford was a member at the Everett United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she had taught Sunday school, and was a member of the Methodist quilting ladies. She also was a member of the order of the Rebecca Lodge. She worked at the Centerville Post Office, Celenese Sewing Factory in Centerville, Chilcoats Restaurant in Osterburg, and she retired in 1983 form the Lion Manufacturing Company in Everett. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at the Everett United Methodist Church on Friday, October 29 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Strozyk officiating, burial at Union Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
