Ruth I. Deibert

Ruth I. Deibert, 97, of, Bedford, died Friday, December 27, 2013 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on May 8, 1916, in Bedford, a daughter of the late J. Reed and Nellie M. (Reed) Irvine. On June 16, 1936, in Roanoke, VA, she married H. Carl Deibert who preceded her in death on November 24, 2006.  She is survived by a son, Richard  C. Deibert and wife Bonnie of Landisville; a daughter, Prudence D. Harclerode and husband Terrance of New Paris; four grandchildren:  Laurie Freysinger and husband Richard of Guys Mills;  Douglas Deibert and wife Lisa of Nottingham; Sonja Cline and husband Warren of Frederick, MD; Jerome Harclerode and wife Jennifer, of New Paris; seven great grandchildren:  Katelyn, Alaina, Erik, and Chad Eisenhooth; Spencer Freysinger; Oliva and Calliope Deibert.   She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Irvine, and a sister, Margaret Ozena Bailey.

Ruth was a caring mother and wife.  She enjoyed staying at home with her children and sometimes helping with her husband’s business.  She was a member of several bridge clubs, the Twentieth Century Club, Bedford Grange, and helped as an aide at the snack bar at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bedford.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ with Pastor Joseph Puleo officiating.  Friends will be received on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park Arrangements by the Timothy A.
