Ruth A. Brice

Ruth A. Brice, 90, of Homewood Nursing Home, formerly of Preston Street Bedford, died Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Home. She was born on August 24, 1914 in Bedford, A daughter of the late John S. and Ruth (Allen) Brice. She is survived by the following family, 2 Sisters, Margaret Koontz of Bedford, and Nancy Jane widow of Leo Grabill of Waynesboro, also surviving are 9 nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford a graduate of Bedford High School class of 1932. She received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pa. and her masters from Penn State. She retired in 1975, after 36 years as a speech and learning pathologist in education, She worked most of her career in the Bedford School system, but also had taught in Everett, Lansdowne and Chambersburg, She was a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma, member of PSEA & NEA, Bedford Co. Retired teachers, and former charter member of AAUW.
There will be no visitation, memorial services will be held at a later date. Those wishing may make contributions to the Bedford School District, 3639 Business Rte. 220 North, Bedford, Pa. 15522 to purchase books for the elementary school. Arrangements by Timothy A.
