Russell C. Fetter

Russell C. Fetter, 84, formerly of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2012 at Homewood of Martinsburg.  He was born on April 28, 1928, in New Paris, a son of the late George L. and Mary Elizabeth (Hoagland) Fetter.  On April 9, 1955 he married Marion J. Phillips and she survives along with four brothers Dale Fetter and wife Dorothy, Paul Fetter and wife Janet all of Bedford, Ira Fetter of Fishertown, Eugene Fetter and wife Ruth of Helixville, three sisters, Alice Miller and husband Charles, of Bedford, Evelyn Wilkins of Manns Choice, and Shirley Ketterman and husband Ronald of Bedford.  He was preceded in death by one brother Carl Fetter and three sisters:  Ruth Norris, Myrtle Reisling, and Elizabeth “Betty” Glover.

Russell was employed for Eastern Express and then started his own excavating business in Bedford County, he also was a Bedford Township Supervisor for 2 years.  He was a member of the Pennwood Bible Church.  A special thank you to Russell’s caregivers at Homewood and Ruth Steele of home nursing.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pennwood Bible Church in Everett, with the Rev. Floyd Rinehart officiating.  Burial at St. Paul’s Reform Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Blair County Home Nursing Agency, 201 Chestnut Ave., P.O.
