Rush D. Stigers Sr., 69, of Filo Lane, Bedford, died May 31, 2012 at H.J. Heinz Community Living in Pittsburgh. He was born on May 26, 1943 in Pavia, a son, of the late Henry J. and Ada Carrie (Berkey) Stigers. He is survived by a son, Rush D. Stigers Jr. and wife Sarah of Hopewell, a daughter, V. Diane Forbes, of Newburg, a daughter, Angell Walent and husband William Jr., of Bedford, three grandchildren Charles, Laura, and Thomas, one sister, Mattie Boyle of Culpepper, VA, many nieces and nephews, two dogs Baby and Rufus. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, John, Ward, James, Herman, Lester, Richard, and William Stigers, six sisters, Herietta Adams, Ethel Stigers, Sara Walters, Irene Dick, Ada Zoe Swope, and Minnie Ravensgraff.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and drove truck for Central City Coal Mine. He also Cooked at the Dairy Dell, and worked for Bedford Reinforced Plastics. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything involving the outdoors.
A Funeral Service will be held on June 6, 2012, at 12:00 pm, in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Donna Wolfinger officiating. Burial at Pavia Cemetery .
