Roy F. Mock, 87, of Point Road, Schellsburg, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. He was born on October 22, 1926, in Nanty Glo, a son of the late Jacob R. and Eva Mae (Mahan) Mock. On May 17, 1946, in Somerset, he married Ruth (Weaver) Mock who survives along with the following family, five sons; Roy Mock and wife Nancy of Bedford, Ronald Mock and companion Patricia of Bedford, Carl Mock and wife Wanda of Pensacola, FL, Daniel Mock and wife Lisa of Ebensburg, Timothy Mock and wife Tracy of New Paris, Four daughters; Judith A. Powell of Schellsburg, Patricia G. and husband Wayne Price of Bedford, Karen S. Hostetler of Ebensburg, Sharon Diehl and husband Mike of Bedford; and a sister, Gladys Winesickle of Bedford; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, David J. Mock, and a granddaughter Jamie L. Pennel.
Roy attended the Bedford Church of the Nazarene. He retired after 25 years from Hedstrom, and prior to that was a gardener for H.E. Hackney and Eastover Farms. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a faithful man of God and very dedicated to his family.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Timothy Mock officiating. Burial at Fishertown Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 5-9 and on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
