Roy E. Mcdaniel

Roy E. McDaniel 67, of egolf road Bedford, died Monday, October 28, 2002 at his residence.  He was born on October 8, 1935 in Everett, son of the late Oliver R. and P. Reba (Riley) McDaniel.  He is survived by two children:  a son, Denis McDaniel of Madison, Wis., a daughter, Judith wife of Knute Olson, of Madison, Wis., one grandson:  Kirk Olson; two brothers:  O. Lee married to the former Ada Knisely of Bedford, and Joe married to the former Sandra Miller of Bedford; two sisters:  Joann wife of Robert Howsare of Bedford, and Doris wife of Dan Cook, of Indianapolis, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.  Mr. McDaniel will be greatly missed by all.  He was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth and Thomas.

He was a member of the Bible Truth Assembly Church in Bedford, and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.  Mr. McDaniel was the President of Universal Silencer a division of Nelson Industries in Stoughton, Wis., he worked there for 21 years until his retirement in June of 1994.

Mr. McDaniel also served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1957 in the “L” Co. 508th (ARCT) Airborne Regimental Combat Team 101st Airborne Division.  He served a tour of duty in Japan and had 35 parachute jumps to his credit.

Mr. McDaniel enjoyed cars, coins and bowling. He often volunteered and participated at the Bedford Area Senior Citizens Center.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor David Johnson officiating.  Burial at Union Memorial Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Everett Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Friday from 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
