Roxan L. Hinson, 71, of New Paris died, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on August 22, 1953 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Harriet "Dolly" (Mitchell) Mihelcic. On December 30, 1972 in New Paris, she married Richard C. Hinson who preceded her in death on November 14, 2019. She is survived by two children: a daughter, Britt R. Savage and fiancé Christopher Calhoun of Bedford; a son, Shane R. Hinson of New Paris; a daughter-in-law, Sonya Hinson of Bedford; three grandchildren: Avery, Benjamin, and Sidney; a sister, Peggy Jones and husband Glenn of Southampton; and a special friend, Tim Robinette of Schellsburg. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Thomas and Joseph Mihelcic.
Roxan was a 1971 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and attended Shenandoah Conservatory for music. She had a passion for music that started at age 16 teaching piano lessons. In 1988 she became the business owner of Ridge Pool Sales. She treated her employees like family and most of her customers the same way. She was a member of the Pleasantville VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed shopping, gambling, and traveling with her husband especially to Key West.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Pastor Deken George officiating. Burial at Cuppett Cemetery in New Paris. Friends will be received on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
