Rose M. Sciranko

Rose M. Sciranko, 91, of Arandale Street, Bedford, died on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.  She was born on May 4, 1923, in Avoca, a daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Gowlick) Schab.  On October 4, 1945 in Bound Brook, NJ she married John Sciranko Jr. and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2009. She is survived by a son, Ronald, married to the former Patricia Knoll of Huntersville, NC, a daughter, Sharon, wife of Dave Wertz of Bedford, two grandchildren:  Justin Sciranko and wife Tonya of Concord, NC and Jenica Kilburn and husband Derek, of Charlotte, NC, two great grandchildren:  Chase and Asher, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers:  Michael, Paul, and Joseph, five sisters:  Amelia, Sylvia, Helen, Nancy, and Mary.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Rose was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed dancing with her husband to the music of the big bands in the 40’s.  She enjoyed traveling, spending time in Florida during the winter, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, listening to the music on the singers and swing channel and being a wonderful cook.

Graveside rites will be held privately with Pastor Raymond E. Short officiating.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
