Ronald E. Keefer

Ronald E. Keefer, 75 of Buck Falls Road, Bedford, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Altoona Regional Hospital.  He was born March 10, 1935 in Normalville, son of the late Earl and Ethel (Freed) Keefer.  On April 14, 1956 in Cumberland, MD, he married Mary Wedl and she survives along with the following children; Terry L Dempsey of Bedford, Jeannie wife of Frank LeMacher of Waterloo, WI, Debra wife of Timothy Hooker of Bedford, Kimberly wife of Steven Grimes of Everett, Rhonda wife of Don DiBuono of Lonaconing, MD, Karen wife of Bruce Lightner of Bedford, Ronald E. Keefer, Jr. of Ephrata, Melissa wife of Robert Allen of Navarre, OH, and Andrew Keefer married to the former Samantha Tata of Mt. Airy, MD.  Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; Geneva Furin of Ruffsdale, Mary wife of Rev. Leroy Kesler of Acme, Lloyd Keefer and wife Judy of Lemont Furnace, Patricia wife of Ron Burkholder of Connellsville, Sharon wife of Ralph Heisterman of Dunbar and Janet wife of William Burkholder of Normalville.  He was preceded in death by three brothers; Kenneth, Wendell, and Glenn Keefer.

Mr. Keefer was affiliated with the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church.  He retired in 1996 as a machinist for CSX Railroad in Cumberland.  He was a coach for girl’s softball in Centerville for many years and was an avid outdoorsman and an amateur videographer.  He loved his grandkids.

Funeral Services: Friday, August 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Troy Gearhart officiating.  Burial at the Green Ridge Memorial Park in Connellsville.  Friends will be received on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
