Romaine M (Evans) Bingham

Romaine M. Bingham, 88 of Bedford died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on May 10, 1928 in Broad Top, a daughter of the late George W. and Hazel (Gindlesberger) Evans.  On August 23, 1948 in Winchester, VA she married Robert H. Bingham, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2004.  She is survived by the following family: a son Donald O. Bingham married to the former Laura Johnson, Ronald W. Bingham, Dixie L. Bingham, all of Bedford, and Robert B. Bingham, of Everett; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Sciranko widow of Charles of Bedford; and three brothers: Barron Evans and wife Francis of Orlando, FL, Ray Evans, and wife Carol, of Bedford, and Blair Evans of Orlando, FL.  She was preceded in death by five brothers: Dwight, Vernon, Walter, Norbert, and Warren; and a daughter, Joanne Bailey.

Mrs. Bingham was a 1946 graduate of Bedford High School.  She worked at various establishments over the years including: Mae’s Dinner, the Milk Shake Inn, Fairfoot Shoe Factory, Bedford Springs Hotel, and volunteered at the Bedford American Legion.  She was a member of the RSVP Singing Group, Bedford American Legion Post #113 Ladies Auxillary, and former first member of the Lazy B Camping Club.  Romaine enjoyed painting, puzzles, cooking, canning, baking, bingo, and traveling with her husband. She was an organ donor in spirit.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. John Kisner officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Sunday, from 4 - 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
