Roger M. Merritt

Roger M. Merritt, 71 of Bedford, died on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He was born on August 23, 1953 in Sparta, Michigan a son of the late Frank and Celeste (Morgan) Merritt. On September 2, 1989 in Bedford, he married Lisa J. (Yantz) Merritt who survives along with the following family: a son Blaine M. Merritt of Mesick, MI; a daughter Shari Merritt of Mesick, MI, a daughter Calesa May Merritt of Bedford; four grandchildren; two brothers: Frank Merritt and wife Isabelle of Orlando, FL; Kenny Merritt of Miami, FL; mother-in-law Norma Baker of Everett; and a brother-in-law Larry Yantz of Bedford.  He was preceded in death by two brothers Rocky and Randy Merritt, and one sister Judy Lohr.

Roger was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford. He worked for himself in the stone concrete business and for contractors Allen Foor, Bill Mearkle and helping Brian Speck build and remodel houses.  He also worked for various companies such as a foreman out East for the Mr. Rehab Company, Rockland, and B.C. Stone.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.  He enjoyed spending time ice fishing, hunting morel mushrooms and cutting stain glass.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. David Weinhold officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
