Robert "Bob" W. Fleetwood

Robert "Bob" W. Fleetwood, 78, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at his residence. He was born on December 4, 1945 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Gilbert Pugsley and Bernice (Kline) Fleetwood. On October 4, 1965 in Oakland, MD, he married Thalia (Coyle) Fleetwood who survives along with a son Robert Wesley Fleetwood Jr. of Bedford; a daughter Jamie Rebecca Fleetwood of Bedford; a niece Melanie Ann Stolar and husband Jamie of Canonsburg; one granddaughter Lauryn Putt and fiancée Brandon; two grand-nephews Cody Stolar and fiancé Samantha and Devin Stolar; one great-granddaughter: Paisley Grace; two sisters Paula Stern and Theresa Fleetwood and a brother G. Paul Fleetwood; also two more nieces Summer Glass and Carley Fleetwood; two nephews Anthony Caponigro and Paul Fleetwood;  two more grand-nephews:  Jaxson, and Jamison; a grand-niece Quinn; and a dog named Lovey.

Bob graduated from North Catholic High School in Pittsburgh.  He then attended Military College and was active in the Theta Chi fraternity and the Pershing Rifles.  He graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy and retired as a Corporal from the Pennsylvania State Police.  After his retirement he worked for the Bedford County Sheriff’s Department and was an active member and elder at the Bedford Presbyterian Church. He was active with the Kiwanis Club, served on the board for the Department of Welfare and was a past president of the Bedford County Players.  His hobbies included listening to music, dancing, watching NASCAR, and playing cards.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bedford Presbyterian Church in Bedford, with Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Friends will be received on Friday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Bob’s name to Bedford Presbyterian Church P.O.
