Robert V. Miller

Robert V. Miller, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on September 10, 2026 after a brief illness. He was born on May 16, 1951, in the close-knit community of Norristown, Pennsylvania, to loving parents Forrest “Woody” and Helen (Simko) Miller. From a young age, Bob exhibited a quiet demeanor that hid a razor-sharp wit and a dry sense of humor that would, in time, become hallmarks of his character.

Bob’s journey in academia led him to La Salle University in Philadelphia, where he earned a degree in accounting. This academic foundation paved the way for a fulfilling career at Cigna (INA), where he dedicated many years to the field of reinsurance and claims accounting. Bob’s colleagues often noted his keen eye for detail and his ability to find irony in the everyday—a testament to his unique perspective on life.

In the autumn of his youth, Bob found his lifelong companion in Kathleen. Their marriage in 1974, a union that has spanned decades, has been a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they nurtured a family that grew to include two cherished children, Shannon M. Weigert (Ben), and Stephen F. Miller (Talley). Bob’s legacy of love and laughter is carried forward by his beloved grandchildren: Madeline, Grace, and Veronica Lendacky, and Layla and Lincoln Miller.

Bob’s passions extended beyond the professional realm. He was an avid enthusiast of Lionel Trains and a devoted fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, with a special place in his heart for the Pirates and the game of baseball. His love for the sport was not confined to spectating; he actively contributed to the community by coaching Little League in Southern Chester County.

A genuine animal lover, Bob found companionship in his pets, including his cats Max and Seth, and his dogs Murphy, Tucker, Bubby, and Savannah. These cherished animals were a constant source of joy and comfort in his life.

Bob’s family expresses profound gratitude to the staff at Pennknoll Manor for their unwavering care and kindness. They have been a steadfast support to Bob and his family, providing comfort and compassion throughout his journey.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, reflecting Bob’s generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
