Robert E. Swartz

Robert E. Swartz, 75, of Cumberland Road, Bedford, went to be with the lord on Sunday, February 15, 2009.  He was born on August 11, 1933, in Duncansville, a son, of the late Chester and Mary (Ulery) Swartz.  On October 14, 1957 in Bedford Valley he married, Clistie Sprouse and she survives along with the following family, a son, Allen D. Swartz married to the former Chery Rock of Everett, a son, Jeff L. Swartz married to the former Linda Palmer of Bedford, a son, Kevin E. Swartz married to the former Angie Hixson of Bedford, six grandchildren:  Serena, Kyla, Daniel, Jesse, Bradley and Rachel, two great grandchildren: Quentin and Allie, three sisters, Betty wife of  Clyde Claycomb of New Enterprise, Alice wife of Joseph Wachter of New Enterprise, Josie wife of Greg Brayfield of Statham, GA, three brothers, Clarence Swartz and wife Barbara of Duncansville, Raymond Swartz and wife Norma of Tipton, and Ray Swartz and wife Patricia of New Enterprise.  He was preceded in death by two brothers:  Donald and Johnny Swartz and one sister Elda Claycomb.

He was a member of the Manns Choice Church of God.  He retired after 25 years from Hedstrom and prior to that, had worked for Howard Johnsons.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, who enjoyed his family, his church and his dog Lassie.

Funeral Services:  Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Manns Choice Church of God with the Pastor Richard Whetstone officiating, burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Timothy A.
