Robert R. Ritchey

Robert Reginald Ritchey Jr. 61 of  Imlertown Road, Bedford, Died February 2, 2002 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville Virginia.  He was born on October 26, 1940 a son of the late Robert Reginald Ritchey and Thelma Ritchey Miller wife of Fred Miller of Bedford.  On April 24, 1960 in Lancaster, Pa. he married Rebecca Ann Laube and she survives along with the following children:  Susan T. wife of Timothy Kauffman of Elizabethtown, Pa., Sharon E. wife of Terry Hoover of Everett, Pa., and Robert W. married to the former Judy Guyer of Bedford.  9 grandchildren, 1 sister Nancy J. Black of Carlisle, Pa., and an Aunt & Uncle, William & Mira Ritchey of Clearville.  He was preceded in death by 1 sister Linda T. Ryan.

Mr. Ritchey worked for 27 and a half years as a postal worker retiring in 1992. He also worked as a farmer and sawmill operator.  He was an avid outdoorsman, Order of the arrow in the scouts, Rotary Citizen of Tomorrow, elder of the church, Sunday school teacher, Youth group leader and on the missions Board.  He graduated from Everett High School in 1958 where he was the captain of the Basketball team, and Bedford Counties High Scorer & MVP.  He then attended Thaddeus Stevens Trade School from 1958-1960.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday February 9, 2002 at 11:00 AM from the Pleasant Hill Reform Church in Imlertown with the Rev. Carl E. Wolfe officiating.  Friends will be received at the church on Saturday 1-hour prior to the service.  Private Burial at the conenience of the family.  In Lieu of flowers contributions can be given to the Samaritans Purse for Persecuting Christians in Sudan, Pleasant Hill Church 1395 Briar Valley Road, Bedford, Pa. 15522.  Arrangements by Timothy A.
